About the Event

Coahoma Community College Foundation invites your organization to join us in our 2020 Breast Cancer Virtual Walk/Run, October 19-31, 2020.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, participants   are “Walking together for the same cause, but not at the same place.” Our theme, “Construction for a Cure,” spotlights the building infrastructure for awareness to African American women who lose their fight with breast cancer in the United States each year.

Breast cancer is still one of the leading causes of cancer deaths among African American women. Coahoma Community College is a Historically Black College and University on a mission to bring attention to the devastating impact of breast cancer on the African American community. As part of this organization, Coahoma Community College Foundation asks you to work with us to enhance our capacity to reach more women and men in the five-county service area with the proven life-saving message of early detection and life style behaviors that promote breast health.

Proceeds from the 5K Walk/Run will support the American Cancer Society. These programs provide ongoing community education, funding for mammograms for under or uninsured women, partnering breast cancer survivors with recently diagnosed women, and support for women facing financial challenges during treatment and more.

We are excited about the possibility of partnering with organizations like yours and would love to have your organization represented by a team at the Virtual Walk! If you cannot have a team, please consider one of the other sponsorship opportunities outlined on the enclosed sponsorship and participation opportunities. Your contribution and involvement will make this fundraiser an extra special celebration!

We also welcome in-kind donations of giveaways for Survivors.

If you are interested in participating as a sponsor, please complete and return the form in the attached packet. Feel free to contact me at (662) 621-4146 with questions.

Thank you for your support!
