CLARKSDALE — Coahoma Community College is excited to announce that Dr. Bryant T. Marks will honor Tiger Nation by being the keynote speaker during the 2016 Graduation and Commencement ceremony being held May 14th inside the Pinnacle.

C:\fakepath\Marks2.jpgDr. Marks is currently the Director of the Morehouse Male Initiative & Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Education’s White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. He is a past Assistant Professor of Psychology and African-American Studies at the University of Illinois-Chicago.

He is a graduate of Morehouse College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Economics. Marks earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in Social Psychology from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Marks is also an ordained minister, serving currently as an associate minister at Mt. Welcome Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, GA.

“Coahoma is extremely excited to be welcoming someone of Dr. Marks caliber to our campus to speak at our graduation ceremony,” said CCC President Dr. Valmadge T. Towner. “I know that his message will be one of hope and encouragement to our graduates and those who may be in the audience thinking of re-visiting their educational possibilities.”

The 64th Annual Commencement Ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.
