CLARKSDALE – CCC students, faculty/staff and community members received some practical advice about entrepreneurship from CCC alum and local businesswoman Toni Luster during the latest "Coffee with Entrepreneurs" series.

Sponsored by the Division of Enrollment and Student Services’ Career Services and Placement, the free event was hosted Tuesday, March 22, in the Career Center, located on the second floor of the Zee A. Barron Student Union.

Luster currently serves as a Field Technical Assistant for Mississippi State University and is the CEO of Toni's School of Dance and Director for Sparkling Jewels of Clarksdale, MS as well as the Sparkling Diamonds of Cleveland, MS.

In addition to sharing her personal tale of entrepreneurship, Luster discussed the importance of goal setting and career planning.

According to organizer Trina Cox, CCC’s coordinator of career services and placement, Luster is well known for her love of the community and for helping others.

“She has really been able to build a name for herself using her creativity and talent,” said Cox. “She is truly an inspiration to the community.”

Coffee with Entrepreneurs is an on-going series designed to give CCC students the opportunity to connect with other students and community members.

For information or if you are an entrepreneur who would like to participate, contact Cox at tcox@coahomacc.edu or (662) 621-4674.
