CLARKSDALE – Coahoma Community College is continuing its mission to inspire reading exploration with an upcoming book club meeting.

C:\fakepath\THE Road.jpgThe iRead book club is scheduled to host its next meeting at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, on the third floor of the Dickerson Library.

iRead (an acronym for Inspiring Reader Exploration Across the Delta) began in 2010 as CCC’s required Quality Enhancement Plan. The club, which is open to CCC students, faculty, staff and community members, explores four novels each semester.

During the upcoming meeting, members will dissect Cormac McCarthy’ s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, “The Road”.

Described as a “post-apocalyptic tale”, The Road explores a journey of a father and young son over a landscape that has been hit by an unspecified cataclysm that takes nearly all life on earth.

CCC English Instructor David Jones will lead the discussion.

If you’re not a member of the book club, it’s not to late to join!

To sign up, contact Jones in the English faculty offices on the second floor of Whiteside Hall or at via email at dljones@coahomacc.edu.
