CLARKSDALE – With the summer months quickly approaching, Coahoma Community College is offering students the opportunity to get a head start or catch up in their curriculum during Summer 2016 sessions I and II.
New and current CCC Tigers can have access to many general education courses during the summer sessions, which will feature both traditional and online courses.
Registration for the first summer session currently underway in the Vivian M. Presley Administration Building and will wrap up June 1. Registration for summer online classes is only available during the Summer I registration period. Classes will kick off May 31 and run through June 22.
Students can also register for the Summer II session now through June 28. Classes for this final session will begin June 24 and will run through July 20.
CCC Director of Admissions Michael Houston said he also encourages student to take advantage of early registration for the Fall 2016 semester during the summer months.
“This is a great time for students to complete the registration process and avoid the wait that sometimes occurs during Formal Registration,” said Houston. “By registering early students can complete the process at their own convenience and have a larger selection of classes and instructors to choose from.”
Here’s a step-by-step guide to reserve your seat this summer at CCC today:
If you are not currently enrolled at CCC, the first step in your registration process is to fill out an application for admission. Included with this application, you must submit your official high school transcripts or your official GED scores. If you are transferring from another college, those official transcripts will need to be included as well.
If you are under the age of 21, you will also need to submit your ACT scores — if you have not taken the ACT, you can schedule to take the ACT Residual from 8 a.m. to noon June 1, 15, 22, and 29 or July 13, 20, 27. A registration fee of $35 must be submitted to the Business Office prior to testing. Students should also bring a picture ID to the testing site, located Curry Hall Room 6.
After completing and submitting these requirements, or if you are already currently enrolled, payment for your classes will need to be submitted. Students who are not using financial aid must submit payment to the Business Office. Those applying for financial aid, but have yet to receive their “Award Letter”, please visit the Financial Aid Office. If you need to begin the financial aid application process, you will also need to visit the Financial Aid Office. The admissions, financial aid and business offices are all located in the Vivian M. Presley Administration Building, located on CCC’s main campus.
Once students have applied and arranged for payment, the admissions office will place them with an advisor (if they are a new student) who will help them schedule your classes.
If the student is taking at least one class online, they will need to visit the Educational Outreach Office for online scheduling. If students are not taking online classes, they will be able to schedule their classes online — if you are a new student, the Admissions Office will give your CCC online registration credentials to you.
