CLARKSDALE – A new Coahoma Community College program is helping to ensure that new and returning Tigers are prepared to succeed at CCC.

CCC and Me, organized by the Division of Enrollment and Student Services Career Center, is a program designed to welcome students to Tiger Nation and provide resources and information that will be helpful to them, particularly during their first months on campus.

Sessions are offered from 10 a.m. until noon every Thursday through July 30 in CCC’s Career Services and Placement Center (located on the second floor of the Zee A. Barron Student Union). Walk-ins are welcome and special appointments are available by request.

“Throughout the years, we have learned that a better informed student is a better prepared student and ultimately a more successful student,” said CCC Director of Enrollment and Student Services Karen Done. “CCC and Me is simply our way of continuing to serve the needs of our future and current CCC students by offering a small, hands-on approach to learning about the college and the services that we provide.”

In addition to tips and resources that will help students adjust to college life, assistance completing registration applications, FAFSA (financial aid) paperwork and housing applications is also available.

Students are also shown how to access campus email and given a review of the college’s online portal, MyCCC, and Canvas.

During the session, new and returning students can learn about everything from where to take your ID, to how to purchase textbooks. They’re also given information on campus technology resources and can opt to receive academic advising in preparation for registration.

“We want to address any questions and/or concerns our students may have,” said CCC Coordinator of Career Services and Placement Trina Cox. “Our goal is for students to leave the center with a class schedule for the upcoming semester.”

To schedule an appointment with CCC and Me, or for more information, contact Cox at (662) 621-4674.
