CLARKSDALE – Refresh your Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) skills with a new short-term course offered by Coahoma Community College this fall!
CCC’s EMT program is offering a state-approved 24-hour EMT Refresher Course, open to the public.
The training will be hosted at CCC’s Robert G. “Brick” Mason Allied Health Center, located at 901 Ohio Ave, in Clarksdale, MS.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day participants will keep their skills sharp with hands-on training and critical thinking exercises.
CCC EMT Program Director Rhett Nelson said the course may be particularly beneficial to local EMTs who are scheduled to re-certify their NREMT credentials by March 2016.
“This is a unique way to attend a refresher course and is guaranteed to be unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before,” said Nelson. “This course will get students 'out of their seat' and keep them engaged in scenario-based learning.”
In addition, Nelson said the course, which meets National Registry for Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) transition requirements, will offer state-of-the-art equipment such as high-fidelity manikins not normally included in the standard refresher courses.
“This will be a transition refresher course unlike anything you have ever attended before,” said Nelson.
Registration is $40 per block or $120 for all three blocks. New dates for the classes have yet to be determined.
For questions or to register for some or all of the trainings, contact Nelson at (662) 621-4041 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
