CLARKSDALE –Keep your Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic skills sharp with two upcoming professional development courses offered by Coahoma Community College this month.

The two-day, 16-hour courses are open to the public and will be hosted CCC’s Robert G. “Brick” Mason Allied Health Center, located at 901 Ohio Ave. in Clarksdale.

“These courses benefit EMTs and Paramedics across the region and, for many, it is a job requirement for them to maintain these certifications,” said CCC EMT Program Director Rhett Nelson.

The first training, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 15-16.

A second training, Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS), will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug.22-23.

Nelson said interested individuals can attend to gain initial, or restore expired certifications, or to simply use the courses as a refresher.

Registration is $25 per course and can be paid on-site the day of the course.

For questions or more information, contact Nelson at (662) 621-4041 or rnelson@coahomacc.edu.
