For first-year students of Coahoma Community College, this year’s virtual New Student Orientation symbolizes a fresh start and the beginning of a new chapter.

Although the 2020 Orientation is set to be viewed live on Facebook due to COVID-19 limitations, the Division of Student Engagement has organized an online event that maintains the same high-spirited, energetic vibe of an in-person Orientation.

By registering for one of three online orientations (Tuesday, July 7, at 11 a.m.; Thursday, July 16, at 1 p.m.; Monday, July 27, at 6:30 p.m.), incoming transfer students and freshmen enter a chance to win prizes.

The NSO lineup includes a Tiger Territory tour and greetings from CCC president Dr. Valmadge T. Towner and Clarksdale mayor Chuck Espy. LaShasa Griffin, the assistant director of Student Engagement, will moderate a live Q&A Tiger Talk. Students will also meet key personnel that can provide reliable assistance during their attendance.

Personnel will be available for questions and concerns regarding aspects such as admissions, financial aid, safety, housing, health, athletics, and student life via the live broadcast.

Register and find additional details at coahomacc.edu/orientation/.
