An original stage play from Last Psalm Productions and the American Gospel Quartet Convention will be presented on the stage of the CCC Georgia Lewis Theatre Monday, April 1, 2019 at 7 p.m.

Written by Birmingham, Alabama native George Stewart, this production is an urban socio-drama that will invite interaction from the audience.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, Coretta Scott King and Professor Booker T. Washington make a reappearance for an important town hall meeting in order to discuss the current detrimental decline among the African American community.

The play is designed to allow input from the audience in hopes of resolving issues raised in the script. The black historians of the past will offer historical information to positively influence change.

Stewart, who is also the president of Last Psalm Productions and the AGQC, has been showcasing his plays before the CCC community for eight years now.

“This play is created to set us back on course to re-crown the kings and queens in the African American community,” said Stewart.

“At the conclusion of the play, the attendees will be given a challenge to return to their communities with the determination to rediscover the fire of our souls.”

Traditional and original songs will reach the hearts of the audience members throughout the play.

The upcoming presentation is being brought to Coahoma Community College by the Lyceum committee.
