Fit for Life to Sponsor Healthy Heart Week, Feb. 18-25

In observance of American Heart Month, Coahoma’s Fit for Life initiative will take out a week during the month of February to promote heart health.  February 18-25 is set aside for activities sponsored by the program that will prevent heart diseases and ultimately lead to a long life span.

In observance of American Heart Month, Coahoma’s Fit for Life initiative will take out a week during the month of February to promote heart health.  February 18-25 is set aside for activities sponsored by the program that will prevent heart diseases and ultimately lead to a long life span.

Healthy Heart WeekHealth screenings will be conducted on Monday, Feb. 18, serving as the first event of Healthy Heart Week.

Midnight Madness   Tuesday Feb. 19 will be a night of festivities centered on fun and fitness carried on from 8 p.m. until midnight.

Lunch and Learn Series   Short lectures geared toward adapting to better eating habits will get students and employees consuming the right kinds of foods on Wednesday, Feb. 20 and Thursday, Feb. 21.

No Fried Food Friday   On Feb. 22, healthy eaters of the campus community will protest against the fattiness of fried foods.

Walk for Keys Day   At noon on Monday, February 25, Tigers will stroll the Fit for Life Fitness Trail to honor the life of Eric Keys, who served as CCC’s director of student success and passed away in April of 2017 at age 47 from heart disease.

The Fit for Life Healthy Campus initiative is funded by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation.
