For the first time in the institution’s history, Coahoma Community College will host the Mr. Coahoma Community College Competition. The event will happen alongside the longstanding Miss Coahoma Community College Pageant.

Slated for Wednesday, Feb. 13, in the Pinnacle, the 2019-2020 Mr. CCC Competition promises to be a night of showmanship and elegance as contestants compete in several categories, including on-stage question, talent and athleticwear.

Mr. Coahoma Community College is described as a male of high moral conduct and possesses boundless school pride and spirit.  The chosen individual must be prepared to serve as an integral role at the college, which includes being well-versed in public speaking, maintaining a positive public appearance and self-image, and serving as a college spokesperson.  Mr. CCC should excel academically, maintain social and public commitments, and be comfortable in the public eye while serving in this position.

In addition to the competition rounds, the young men must complete in a preliminary interview, as well as present a platform that addresses a community service project.

“We are excited about the candidates running for Mr. and Miss Coahoma Community College 2019-2020,” said CCC Assistant Director of Student Engagement LaShasa Griffin. “These young people are energetic and ready to display Tiger pride as they compete for these coveted titles.”

As with Mr. Coahoma Community College, Miss Coahoma Community College must be a person of high moral fiber and possess a genuine love and admiration for Coahoma.  She must be prepared to serve as an ambassador for the college and will fulfill public speaking obligations, maintain a positive public appearance and self-image, and be a good steward of the institution.  Miss CCC should excel academically, maintain social and public commitments, and be comfortable in the public eye while serving in this position.

The official positions are embraced as an addition to the Student Government Association (SGA) and adds vigor to the spirit of the college for former, current, and future students while exemplifying the motto of the college, “On a Mission.”

Griffin encourages the campus, as well as the public, to come out and show their support the free event.

“We are overjoyed with the representation of students wanting to be involved at Coahoma Community College, and we’re looking for great things from our students who are more than capable to represent the college,” said Griffin.
