“CCC ranks eighth among fellow Mississippi institutions of higher learning.”

Coahoma Community College’s online programs/e-Learning has been recognized as one of the best in the State of Mississippi; taking number eight among its peers.

CCC is listed on Best Value Schools' Mississippi Best Online Colleges 2018 listing.

The website generates the rankings by comparing over 60 post-secondary colleges and universities with fully online programs. They also analyze numerous other factors to create the list including programs offered, affordability, and access.

Joseph McKee, coordinator of CCC e-Learning, is ecstatic about the growth of his program and its benefits to Coahoma students.

“To have Coahoma Community College recognized on this list, demonstrates the commitment we have to providing expanded learning opportunities to individuals in our service area,” said Mckee “Moreover,  being ranked 8th also shows our capability to provide high-quality instruction and student-centered learning opportunities for our students.”

Coahoma Community College’s online courses are offered through a unique partnership with the other community colleges in the State, know as the Mississippi Virtual Community College. This partnership allows CCC to provide courses to students that are not hosted locally at the Clarksdale campus. Simply put, students are provided every opportunity to enroll and receive instruction in courses necessary for program completion. Coahoma’s  online courses are designed to meet the needs of it’s diverse student population.

Dr. Valmadge Towner, President of Coahoma Community College, is pleased with the recognition and sees this as a great sign of great things to come for his institution.

"Coahoma Community College is fortunate to have membership in arguably the best community college system in the country--Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges,” said Towner. “In my view,  our community college system is exemplary, and our colleges tend to collegially challenge each other as well as learn from one another. The system does so, while also understanding that all of our community colleges in Mississippi have a common purpose of providing affordable, accessible and exceptional educational and workforce training services to our students and constituents.”

Towner also noted, “Coahoma Community College has made a conscientious effort to improve our online educational services the past few years. Due to the exceptional leadership and efforts of Dr. Rolonda Brown, Letha Richards, Joseph McKee and colleagues, we are pleased to see that our online educational programs are being noticed in a positive light. We vow to work continuously for moving the needle on educational access for our region."

Students that enroll in online courses at Coahoma Community College have the opportunity to receive high-quality instruction at a fraction of the cost associated with attending some of other larger institutions.
