CLARKSDALE – Next year’s potential student leaders at Coahoma Community College have been busy all week hanging election posters, filming campaign videos, giving speeches and spreading the word about their candidacies to their fellow Tigers.

The candidates vying for Miss CCC, Mr. CCC and Student Government Association (SGA) President, respectively, are in a race to see who can gain the most votes before online elections open Monday, March 30 and Tuesday, March 31.

The new Mr. and Miss Coahoma Community College and SGA President will be announced at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, in the Zee A. Barron Student Union.

The outgoing leaders for the 2014-2015 term are Miss CCC Lauren Williams of Clarksdale, MS; Mr. CCC Cadarius Cannon of Leland, MS; and SGA President Christopher Neal of Clarksdale, MS.

Polls will open at 9 a.m. on Monday morning (March 30) and will close at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. 

All students who take classes on the Main Campus (Day or Night), can vote on the second floor of the Zee A. Barron Student Union. They will need to see Carolyn Hunter, Trina Cox, or Patrick Johnson to receive a voting voucher and will need access to a computer to place their vote.

Students enrolled in off-campus sites will need to see the site monitors at their respective sites to receive a voucher to vote. They will need access to a computer to place their vote as well.
