CLARKSDALE – Coahoma Community College students will get a lesson in the importance of giving back during a special project this Saturday.

Students enrolled in Orientation classes will be accepting canned goods and monetary donations at Clarksdale’s Kroger from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28. All donations will benefit the Care Station of Clarksdale.

According to Instructor John Mayo, the project was planned as part of a community service component of the Orientation classes.

“We’re trying to teach the kids that when they graduate from college they have an obligation to give back to their community wherever they live,” he said. “We’re encouraging everyone to come out and support our students in their effort to help those in need in the Clarksdale community.”
