CLARKSDALE – Coahoma Community College’s Division of Enrollment and Student Services wrapped up its Intramural March Madness tournament and first annual Pee Wee March Madness Classic Tuesday.

During the Intramural March Madness tournament, hosted in the Reid Gym, team Tiger Nation defeated team Ballers at the buzzer 74-71.  CCC freshman Willie Benson Jr. was named tournament MVP and Jalan Jefferson was presented the Coach Taylor Sportsmanship Award.

In the Pee Wee March Madness Classic, team George H. Oliver, coached by Coach Reggis Garrin, took home the first place trophy. Team Booker T. Washington, coached by Coach James Washington, was the second place winner and team Myrtle Hall, coached by Coach Anthony Buggs, placed third.  

The Pee Wee teams were each presented with a certificate of appreciation. 

CCC’s Division of Enrollment and Student Services extends a special thanks to Coach Anthony Taylor, intramural coordinator, as well as CCC faculty, staff and students who helped to make these events a success.

The intramural season will continue with the 7-on-7 Flag Football kick-off next week on Tuesday, March 31. For more information contact Taylor at (662) 621-4155
