CLARKSDALE – Adults seeking the opportunity to receive their GED now have the opportunity to do so and save some cash in the process thanks to two special discounts available at Coahoma Community College.
Now through Feb. 28, Coahoma Community College’s Workforce Development Center will be offering the GED Ready practice tests for $1 per section, at a total cost of $4 for the entire practice exam. The practice test usually costs $24—$6 for each of the four sections: mathematical reasoning, reasoning through language arts, science and social studies.
In addition to the practice test, individuals can also save $10 when they register for their first GED examination. The test typically costs $30 for each of the four sections and $120 total.
CCC’s GED/Adult Basic Education (ABE) Director Tamara Washington-Travis said the promotion is part of a special offer from the GED Testing Services to assist and encourage those preparing to take the test.
“The GED Ready test is the official practice test of the GED program and provides individuals preparing to take the test a chance to find out if they are ready to pass as well as identifies areas they may still need to work on,” said Washington-Travis. “This is a great opportunity for potential test takers to be more prepared for the GED and we encourage them to take advantage of this opportunity.”
To access the GED Ready promotion, visit CCC’s Workforce Development Center, located at 510 Sunbelt Drive in Clarksdale, or any off-campus locations.
Washington-Travis also encourages individuals to take advantage of GED classes and other resources offered at CCC’s Workforce Development Center. Last year, nearly 100 individuals participated in CCC’s GED graduation ceremony.
