Just as a flash mob possesses an intriguing factor, Coahoma’s upcoming Flash Mob for Peace campaign will unite the student body for the purpose of domestic violence awareness in order to bring about the same effect.

Students will come together and choose signs that best express their disdain for domestic abuse on September 18, 2019, at 11 a.m. in front of the Zee A. Barron Student Union. They will then raise up the signs in solidarity to encourage their peers, victims and loved ones of victims to stand up against dating violence, sexual assault and stalking.

“This event is an opportunity to voice your opinion on interpersonal violence,” says Kenneth Gooden, the CCC Dating and Domestic Violence Prevention program coordinator. “Once people feel empowered to find their voice, then they are able to move to action against these forms of violence.”

The prevention program strives to create the safest campus environment possible.

“We want the entire campus community to come out and be a part of this worthwhile event,” says Gooden.

For additional information, call Gooden at (662) 621-4666 or (662)-645-1907. He can also be reached by email at kgooden@coahomacc.edu.
