For students aspiring to be educators, Career Services is offering an informational with everything they need to know to reach their professional goals. Teacher recruiter Tracey Wright-Miller will inform up-and-coming teachers of the steps it will take to become certified educators on Tuesday morning, Sept. 18. Miller works for the Mississippi Department of Education, which serves Mississippi’s public schools.

In the Career Center of the Zee A. Barron Student Union, Miller plans to break down to students the steps they will have to take to become certified teachers. Miller’s presentation focuses on the Praxis test, the job of a teacher’s assistant and the process required in order to attain the credentials for licensure in the state of Mississippi. Miller will touch on other relevant factors including scholarship and loan information. Her presentation will also pinpoint the areas in the state that are in dire need of teachers.
