CLARKSDALE – Coahoma Community College faculty members are invited to listen and join in the discussion during an iRead Faculty Roundtable Friday, Sept. 23.

During the event, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in Room 221 of Whiteside Hall, faculty members from all CCC Divisions will be able to learn more about Reading Apprenticeship (RA) by listening to instructors share their successful RA lessons.

RA is a research-validated approach designed to help college and university students from across disciplines and levels develop advanced academic literacies, including disciplinary specific ways of reading, writing, researching and problem solving.

CCC Social Science Chair Barbara Boschert encourages all CCC faculty members to attend this informative session, as RA is part of the college’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) requirements for reaccreditation.

“Everyone is welcome and teachers are encouraged to discuss their successes,” said Boschert.

For questions or more information, contact Boschert at bboschert@coahomacc.edu or (662) 621-4677.
