Coordinator of Tutorial Services Patrick Johnson (pictured, far left) prepares to transport a group of CCC students to Clarksdale as part of a free shuttle service available to students every Friday form 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
CLARKSDALE – Tigers, if you’re in need of safe and affordable transportation from campus to Clarksdale, Coahoma Community College is here for you!
The Division of Enrollment and Student Services provides students with a free shuttle service each Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The service gives students the opportunity to visit local stores and businesses to purchase necessities while away from home.
Freshman Rayverlin Butler of Shelby, Miss. said the shuttle is definitely something she plans to use.
“It’s very beneficial for students who don’t have transportation to get to the places they need to go,” said Butler.
Freshman Akasha Pates of Shaw, Miss. agreed.
“It’s a safe alternative, especially for incoming freshmen who may not have a car and don’t have any reliable transportation,” said Pates. “It’s definitely better than them getting in the car with just anybody because anything can happen.”
CCC Director of Enrollment and Student Services Karen Done said the service is just one of the many ways the department tries to accommodate students while they’re living on campus.
“This shuttle service, coupled with a whole host of other services we’re providing in the Division of Enrollment in Student Services—tutoring, career readiness service, counseling service—helps to meet the needs of our students while they’re here on campus,” said Done.
Students interested in utilizing the shuttle should contact Coordinator of Tutorial Services Patrick Johnson at his office, located on the second floor of the Zee Barron Student Union, or by calling (662) 621-4825.
