CLARKSDALE – Coahoma Community College’s National Alumni Association recently installed its newly elected officers during a special ceremony last week.

The group met on the campus of CCC Wednesday morning for the ceremony, led by Judge Jessie Burton of Clarksdale, MS.

The 2017 officers include: President Robert Giles (‘67) of Clarksdale, MS; Vice President Henry Dorsey (‘62) of Clarksdale, MS; Executive Secretary Yvonne Stanford (‘66) of Clarksdale, MS; Corresponding Secretary Avrie Toliver (‘79) of Friars Point, MS; Parliamentarian Victor Wheatley (’82) of Clarksdale, MS; Treasurer Cheryl Barnes (’89) of Clarksdale, MS; and Chaplain Robert Rockett (‘78) of Coahoma, MS.

As president, Giles said his goals include increasing recruitment, membership and finances.

“We’re hoping to work with a national group to do more recruitment and fundraising to benefit the college as well as plan some activities that will get students on campus more involved” Giles said. “Our goal is to work together to move the CCC forward.”

The purpose of the Coahoma Community College Alumni Association is to promote the welfare of Coahoma Community College and establish a mutually beneficial relationship between Coahoma Community College and its Alumni.

Membership in the association is available to all friends and alumni of the college for an annual membership fee, which includes local and national membership.
