CLARKSDALE – Coahoma Community College has unrolled a new Employee of the Month program that will honor one outstanding faculty member and one staff member per month.

The purpose of the Employee of the Month program is to recognize and reward faculty and staff who exhibit work and behaviors that support and further the mission, goals, values and initiatives of Coahoma Community College.

CCC faculty and staff can submit nominations. The nominee must be a full-time employee. A committee, chaired by CCC Director of Employee Services Michael Houston, is responsible for reviewing nominations and selecting a faculty and a staff honoree. The nominees are judged based on attitude and commitment, interpersonal skills, work performance, and personal traits.

Honored as CCC’s first faculty Employee of the Month is Tony Brooks of Batesville, Miss.

Brooks serves as a Respiratory Instructor and Short-term Program Coordinator for CCC’s Division of Health Sciences. He has been employed at CCC since 2001.

“It’s an honor to be chosen as the first faculty Employee of the Month,” said Brooks. “I’ve enjoyed my tenure here at Coahoma … I’m glad to be a part of the institution and for the opportunity to provide a brighter future for our students.”

Brooks received an Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy from Christian Brother University and a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from Strayer University.

Outside of work, he is very active in his church—Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Batesville.

Honored as CCC’s first staff Employee of the Month is Martha Robertson of Clarksdale, Miss.

Robertson has served as a custodian, overseeing the Zee A. Barron Student Union, for two years.

“I was very shocked to learnI had been selected,” said Robertson. “I would like to give a sincere thank you to my nominator—it makes me feel good to know that my work is being noticed and appreciated.”

Outside of work, Robertson enjoys watching television, window-shopping and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Each Employee of the Month winner will receive a picture, a designated parking spot, a shirt from CCC’s Bookstore, a hair style or cut courtesy of CCC’s Cosmetology/Barbering Department, marquee announcement and website recognition.
