CLARKSDALE – Two Coahoma Community College instructors recently attended the Educators Rising Leadership Conference, hosted at Delta State University (DSU) Oct. 13.
Educators Rising Leadership Conference, formerly Future Teachers of America, offers area colleges and universities—including Mississippi Delta Community College, DSU and CCC—a unique opportunity to recruit local high school sophomores, juniors and seniors.
CCC Public Speaking Instructor Kishki Hall and Social Science Chair/History Instructor Barbara Boschert represented Tiger Nation during the conference.
In addition to connecting with potential Tigers, Hall and Boschert created a display board that showcased CCC’s ability to educate the teachers of tomorrow by highlighting some of its recent graduates as well as a PowerPoint presentation that highlighted all of the great things CCC has to offer.
Following the event, the instructors reported that several students verbally committed to attending CCC. They also shared the possibility of CCC hosting the conference in the future.
“This conference was a perfect opportunity for teachers to recruit and I’m thankful for the opportunity to have attended,” said Boschert. “Our display generated some serious student interest. Plus, CCC is now in the minds of 10th,11th and 12th graders from all across North Mississippi.”
“I enjoyed this experience immensely and look forward to more opportunities such as this one,” said Hall. “That one day refreshed me! I also enjoyed working with Mrs. Boschert. I am thankful to Dr. Brown for her support and extending me this great networking experience.”
CCC has been extended an invitation to attend the Educators Rising Leadership State Conference hosted in Jackson Feb. of 2016.
