CLARKSDALE – Coahoma Community College students, alumni and community members are invited to come enjoy a fresh cup of coffee while engaging in insightful conversation during an upcoming Coffee with Entrepreneurs event.

Sponsored by the Division of Enrollment and Student Services’ Career Services and Placement, the free event is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, in the Career Center, located on the second floor of the Zee A. Barron Student Union. Local artist Himes “Borie” Weekly III will lead the discussion.

According to organizer Trina Cox, CCC’s coordinator of career services and placement, Borie, a self-proclaimed “art’trepreneur”, is a well-known tattoo artist in the Mississippi Delta.

He has been involved in a number of projects incorporating his artistic abilities to assist several businesses and institutions throughout the Delta, such as the Athletic Logo for Coahoma Community College and the “DEBTS” program at Delta State University.

A driven artist, Borie often uses other talented artists such as the late Ernie Barnes, Justin Bua, and Franklin Morris as inspirational tools to keep him motivated and focused on perfecting his craft within the art community.

“He really been able to build a name for himself using his creativity and talent,” said Cox. “He is truly an inspiration for our students interested in building a business using their God-given talents.”

Coffee with Entrepreneurs is an on-going series designed to give CCC students the opportunity to connect with other students and community members.
