CLARKSDALE – Tigers will have the opportunity to showoff their creative skills and win some extra cash during the iRead Book Club Poster Contest.

iRead, an acronym for Inspiring Reader Exploration Across the Delta, is part of CCC’s required Quality Enhancement Plan, which included the introduction of a book club on CCC’s campus.

In an effort to increase the visibility of the book club and get students excited about the upcoming book selection, the club is hosting a poster contest to see who can best depict the 1843 British classic—Charles Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol”.

The posters will be judged based on several criteria’s, including the quality of artwork, graphics and color.

“Our goal is to have more students to read the book and participate in the book club,” said CCC Social Science Chair Barbara Boschert. “I think it’s a great opportunity for our more artistic students as well as our readers who would like to participate.”

Prizes are $25 for the first place winner, $15 for the first runner-up and $10 for the second runner up.

Deadline for entries are Wednesday, Nov. 4.

For questions or more information contact David Jones at (662) 621-4277 or dljones@coahomacc.edu or Barbara Boschert (662) 621-4677 or bboschert@coahomacc.edu.
