CLARKSDALE – Tigers interested in joining the Armed Forces will have the opportunity to take the entrance exam right here on the campus of Coahoma Community College next month.
Thursday, Nov. 12, test administrators from the federal government will visit CCC’s campus to administer the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).
The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students.
CCC Coordinator of Career Services Trina Cox said the it’s a great opportunity for anyone with interests in joining a branch of the military in the near future to schedule to sit for the free test.
“The ASVAB is a standardized test that candidates are required to take during the military entrance process, prior to Basic Training, to help determine what jobs candidates qualify for,” said Cox. “This is a valuable opportunity for our students as well as community members.”
