CLARKSDALE –The results are in and Coahoma Community College has officially announced Miracle Johnson as its 2015 Homecoming Queen.

CCC Director of Enrollment and Student Services Karen Done and Assistant Director of Enrollment and Student Services LaShasa Griffin made the announcement Wednesday afternoon in the stairwell of the Zee A. Barron Student Union. She was elected to the position after receiving the majority votes in an online election hosted all-day Tuesday.

Johnson is a sophomore Sports Medicine Training major from Clarksdale, MS. Her court will include first runner-up Alexus Hunter, a sophomore Journalism major from Clarksdale, MS, and second runner-up Yahaira Lee, a sophomore Criminal Justice major from Charleston, MS.

“I’m very excited. …My heart is racing, but I’m honored and plan to represent the position well,” said Johnson shortly after the announcement was made.

She added that she’s grateful for the support she’s received and is looking forward to her reign.

“I had a lot of support during the entire process and I’m looking to forward to meeting new people on campus, indulging in new opportunities and representing my fellow Tigers,” she said.

CCC’s Homecoming court will be officially crowned during the highly anticipated Homecoming game Sept. 19 against Mississippi Delta.
