Position Title: Registrar/Director of Admissions and Records

Department: Admissions & Records Department

Immediate Supervisor’s Title: Dean for Academic Affairs

Positions Supervised: Recruiters, Office Manager, Administrative Assistant

Term of Position: 12 months                    

Minimum Requirements:  Master’s degree in related field preferred (education,administration, or education related field) experience in marketing; student recruitment; admissions counseling; academic counseling; academic advising; enrollment management; computer applications; data bases; good interpersonal skills.

Position Description: (primary functions)

  • Admits and rejects applicants to the college in accordance with the specified and approved entry requirements
  • Maintains records on student entry and matriculation throughout the college

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and supplies potential students with materials to be completed for college admissions
  • Coordinates the operation of the Office of Recruitment
  • Assists all college personnel engaging in recruitment activities with the necessary materials to prepare students for acceptance
  • Advises faculty and students of entry requirements of the College
  • Develops and distributes a roster of current students of the College to support staff offices to facilitate the enrollment process
  • Coordinates registration
  • Determines the eligibility of applicants and provides acceptance or rejection notices
  • Plans the scope and content of work performed by personnel supervised
  • Provides colleges, universities, and agencies with requested official transcripts
  • Provides students with copies of their academic records
  • Prepares semester reports on the academic status of students enrolled in the College
  • Certifies the academic eligibility of students for graduation and participation in special activities
  • Requisitions goods and services as may be required in the implementation of the admissions/records function
  • Evaluates the performance of all personnel supervised
  • Recommends employment, promotion, and/or termination
  • Coordinates all activities, records, reports for veterans and makes official reports to the Veteran Administration
  • Prepares enrollment audit as required by the Mississippi Community College Board
  • Coordinates graduation exercises
  • Serves on department and campus committees and accepts committee assignments
  • Participates in campus activities and programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean for Academic Affairs
