Position Description: (primary functions)

Coahoma Community College is seeking to hire an individual with “Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Skills.”

General duties and responsibilities include, but may be limited, the following:

  • Visually check hydronic-circulation pumps
  • Check for water leaks associated with HVAC units
  • Check boiler operation
  • Check hydronic units
  • Check the wall units
  • Heat panels
  • Check force air units for clogged filters. Change filters based on schedule.
  • Clean condensing units
  • Inspect metal housings around air handle units for metal fatigue
  • Inspect belts and pulleys
  • Lubricate where possible
  • Inspect exhaust and supply fan motors
  • Check motor drives (VFD)
  • Check VAV boxes
  • Check two way-valves and thermostats
  • Clean chiller coils
  • Clean Mitsubishi cassette filters (base on schedule)
  • Keep a log for each mechanical room (date and time of inspection)
  • Request needed materials and supplies
  • Ensure that HVAC systems are operating at optimal level at all time
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
  • Report findings to immediate supervisor.

General Qualifications:

  • Certificate indicating level of HVAC training
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
